If your tank contains aquatic plants, you should run the air pump an additional 1 to 2 hours at night.
2. Bacterial Culturing: Raising fish requires establishing a nitrification system, and nitrifying bacteria themselves are aerobic bacteria. To ensure their rapid growth and reproduction, it’s essential to provide vigorous aeration. Typically, after introducing nitrifying bacteria into a fish tank, you should turn off the lights and start increasing oxygen levels; this aeration process should last about one day.
3. Treating diseases: The oxygenator supplier stated that, When fish become ill, you need to temporarily stop feeding them and promptly provide oxygen. The purpose of increasing oxygen at this time is to accelerate their metabolism, help them eliminate harmful substances, and promote a faster recovery. Moreover, since medical treatment often involves medication, which in turn increases oxygen consumption, it’s important to supplement oxygen appropriately.
